Situated on a meander of the Sardinal river, some 15 minutes by car from Puerto Viejo, the main town of Sarapiqui, it is surrounded by tropical heliconia and ginger gardens. The hotel is around 2 hours by car from San Jose and only a few minutes from a wonderful nature trail, the Rainforest Museum, Braulio Carrillo national park and extensive, primary tropical rainforest. The staff are very committed and the hotel is personally run by a Costa Rican family. A small museum exhibits finds from the Pre-Colombian period and a small part of Richard Whitten's famous insect collection.
